As it’s been rainy for many days, we were worried
about the weather. Maybe, or we would say
surely because all of the YGK children are really good, the sun showed his bright
and happy face to us.
Everyone gathered in the classroom. We checked our belongings, got on a big bus, fastened
our seatbelts and headed for the farm! All
of us were so happy and excited in the bus!
While we were having fun doing morning greetings and singing songs, the
bus arrived at the farm before long.
We greeted the farm owner and started
digging. The soil of the field was soft
and fluffy. The children were so excited
to touch and dig the soil using their own hands. The sweet potatoes grew under the
ground. Dig, dig, dig… We dug and found many fat and big sweet
potatoes! Their faces were shining so
brightly with joy.
After 20 minutes of digging, we could dig
up so many sweet potatoes! We got such a
heavy crop that all the big bags we brought were all filled up.
After saying thank you to the very kind lady,
the farm-owner, we headed for the grassy lunch area. We enjoyed a delicious lunch on the grassy
field. It was so comfortable and
relaxing to have our lunch under the clear autumn sky.
We came back to YMCA feeling contented and
an armful of sweet potatoes! We hope
everyone liked this special experience and our very own hand-picked sweet
potatoes.

Sports Day is just around the corner. We
all look forward to seeing the YGK families on the day!
９月２８日（木）にＹＭＣＡの全日制英語幼児園・ＹＭＣＡグローバルキンダーガーテン（ＹＧＫ）の子ども達がお芋ほりに出かけました。
しばらく雨続きでしたので、天候を心配しておりましたが、恐らく、いえ、絶対に、皆の日頃の行いが良いからでしょう、お日様が顔を出してくれました。
朝、教室に皆が登園してきました。持ち物を確認して、バスに乗り込み、シートベルトをしっかり締めて、農場へと出発しました！バスに乗り込んだ皆のわくわくは最高潮です。朝のご挨拶をして、皆で楽しく歌っているうちに、ほどなくバスは農場に到着しました。
畑の持ち主さんにご挨拶をした後、いよいよお芋ほりが始まりました。畑の土は柔らかくてふわふわでした。土に触り、自分の手で掘り進め、とても嬉しそうな様子の皆でした。サツマイモは土の下で育ちます。どんどん掘っていくと土の中から大きくて丸々としたサツマイモが顔を出しました。皆の顔が喜びにきらきらと輝いていました。
２０分程も掘ったでしょうか。とってもたくさんのおイモを収穫することが出来ました。大きな袋がどれもふちまでいっぱいになるほどの大収穫でした。
畑の持ち主である奥様にお礼を言って、お昼ごはんをいただく広場へと向かいました。青々とした原っぱで、秋晴れの気持ちよい空の下で食べるお弁当はとても美味しく、心地よく、リラックスした気分になれました。
お弁当を食べ終え、抱えきれないほどのおイモを抱えて、大満足でＹＭＣＡまで戻ってきました。
お芋ほりは楽しかったかな。自分で掘り出したおイモはきっと特別美味しいことでしょうね。
さて！次は、ＹＧＫの年間行事の中でも最も大きな行事の一つ、スポーツデーがやってきます。ＹＧＫ園児、卒園児の皆さん、ご家族の皆さんにお会いできますことを楽しみにしております。是非、お誘い合わせの上、ご来場くださいね！
